Foreword

People…..of earth, carbon based life forms, bipeds, family, friends, strangers:

I have always thought otherwise with respect to blogging. My experience is that it always seemed more like blah…blah…blah. However, as a matter of efficiency, order, and ease of communication I am converted, reformed to the method. What will follow over time? Blah? Hopefully…not. That is why for this celebrated event I have decided to communicate the sounds that have recently been vibrating in my ear drums. The soundtrack of my life for the moment. Special thanks to Heru Hatman whose especially well informed musical styling’s provided the inspiration for this venture. I have not included my constant muse 91.5 fm, Chicago Public Radio, that fills the space in between like a constantly chattering, informing friend...This posting is also a special announcement, a cause for celebration and congratulations to my infinitely resourceful wife, Marian Hussey. A music group, new to me until Marian contributed to their most recent album with a voice over piece that actually begins the album, but with catchy tracks similar to other bands out from the British isles that you might know. That band, The Guggenheim Grotto, the album Happy the Man out September 5 check it out...Otherwise, here you have it from my head phones or ear buds to yours....

1. Charlie Wilson's War: The Extraordinary Story of How the Wildest Man in Congress and
a Rogue CIA Agent Changed the History of Our Times
By George Crile

It’s a surreal world….Washington and its cast of characters.

2. Gorillaz Hong Kong off of A Day in the Life

3. Belle & Sebastian We are the Sleepyheads

4. Radiohead 15 Steps In Rainbows
A natural selection for me follow it up with....well the whole album.

5. Bruce Springsteen Waiting on a sunny day/ Nothing man from The Rising
Yes he’s still relevant perhaps even more so today for me. The living legend, siren
of America’s hope, pain, resilience, and guts.

In preparation for this posting I tried really hard to find something out of the world of Hip Hop, Rap that I could say spoke to me that was good. I am pretty well versed in the tradition growing up on EPMD, NWA, Naughty by Nature, Public Enemy, Run DMC, The Beasties, even Teddy(Pendigrass). While I can’t speak for all the groups out today, I’ve got nothing in return for my research except a love of money and women, making it big and checking out. Michael Eric Dyson I tried.

This post is also an invitation for you to post anything that might be interesting to me or anyone else that might happen by this space.
